Farming

Because of favorable soil depth and structure, we are able to dry farm the majority of the vineyard. The dry-farming technique allows the vines to have a large root structure and the grapes truly reflect the distinctive terroir of this Coombsville site.

Our organic dry farming techniques allow the fruit to develop ripe flavors at lower sugars. In addition to conserving water usage, dry farming preserves moisture in the ground through careful cultivation so that irrigation is not needed, and the reward is grapes that are deeply connected to the soil and complex in flavor.
